I wanted to write this review in response to the recent events surrounding the hazardous materials found in one of the buildings at Timberlake. DO NOT RENT HERE!!! Go somewhere else while you still can! To provide some context, Timberlake is not the first apartment I've lived in in Madison but I have never had problems like this with other apartments. Although you'd need a key to go into the building, it seems the neighborhood is just not safe enough to have your package sit there for more than a few hours. We often had occasions when our packages went missing after they were delivered to our building. They were rude and scornful when we asked them for help. To be clear, it's not the little kids that we hate, it's the Timberlake Apartment management - why on earth would you always put families with kids on high floors without doing some kind of noise control to your floorboards? The property managers are aloof and unresponsive to our problems. And from what we heard from other people in the building, we are not the only ones having noise problems from neighbors on upstairs floors. If you are lucky like us and have little kids who live upstairs, the stompings and poundings can drive you mad. We can hear exactly where our higher level neighbors are and what they are doing. Floorboards between upper and lower levels are unbelievably thin. Even when we toured the apartment, they deliberately showed us apartments facing the other sides to cover up this problem. The property managers lied to us when we asked them about the noise problem before we moved in - they promised us we would hear nothing if we just close the windows.

If you get an apartment that faces the Beltline Hwy, you would hear incessant loud noises coming from the highway night and day, even if you pull down all the windows and blinders.
I would have given this place zero stars if I can. A centralized clubhouse features a chef’s kitchen and gathering spaces for social activities and a fitness center.This is absolutely the worst place I've ever stayed in. Residents have access to community gardens and greenspace as well an outdoor living room with bocce ball, fireplaces and grilling area. This development offers shared amenities that are often overlooked in affordable housing, with a focus on community spaces and access to the outdoors. Several apartments function as live-work units-located in a modern loft building, with entries designed to emulate retail storefronts through extensive glass, signage, and direct access to on-street visitor parking. All units are designed to be energy efficient and select units provide enhanced accessibility. The exterior material palette utilizes a mix of brick, siding and corrugated metal. The one and two-bedroom units have private balconies and expansive windows, with premium finishes like granite countertops and luxury vinyl flooring. Artisan Village is an affordable apartment community that caters to multiple age groups, including young professionals, families and empty nesters.
